My name is Aniella Alaniz, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my beloved grandfather, who has just lost everything due to a catastrophic tropical storm. Yesterday, his home was severely flooded—not due to natural causes alone, but because the city failed to open the detention basins and drain the water in time. As a result, his house was overtaken by floodwaters, destroying all of his belongings, furniture, and precious memories.

To make things even harder, my grandfather no longer has home insurance, leaving him with no financial safety net to rebuild. He has worked hard his entire life, and seeing him go through this heartbreaking loss is devastating. He is currently left with nothing, and we are doing everything we can to help him recover.

We are asking for any support you can provide to help him replace essential items, repair his home, and get back on his feet. Every dollar will go directly toward:

• Basic necessities (clothing, food, hygiene products)

• Replacing furniture and appliances

• Home repairs to make the house livable again

• Temporary housing costs
