<div>إسمي رجاء حامد يونس حمدونه و في 17 أكتوبر القادم سأبلغ السادس والثلاثين, مقيمة في غزة. لم أكن لأتخيل أبداً كيف يمكن أن تتغير الحياة في غمضة عين! خلال هذه الحرب فقدت زوجي وطفليّ الصغيرين، محمد (14 سنة) وأحمد (11 سنة)، وأكرم، أحسن زوج. رأيتهم يموتون أمام عينيّ، ونجوت بأعجوبة مع ابنتي سناء (ندعوها سوسو وعمرها 3 سنوات) وإبراهيم (6 سنوات). أصابتنا الرصاصات، وقامت الدبابه بالمرور من فوقنا، انا وسوسو لا نستطيع المشي وتلقينا اكثر من رصاصة في اجسامنا وبحاجة ماسة الى العلاج. بدأت مأساتي في السادس من يونيو 2024. وإذا كان لديك 5 دقائق، أرجو أن تقرأ قصتي.

<div>بدأ اليوم كأي يوم عادي وسط الحرب. ومع اقتراب غروب الشمس، كنت أخبز الخبز بالقرب من خيمتنا مع جارتي رواء وابني أحمد. كان الأطفال يلعبون بالجوار، وللحظة وجيزة شعرت وكأنها فترة بعد ظهر هادئة. ولكن فجأة، انكسر الهدوء بصوت هدير مروحية أباتشي، التي تُعتبر من أخطر المروحيات الهجومية في العالم، حيث بدأت آلة الحرب الأمريكية الصنع بشن هجوم عنيف على المنازل في رفح، بالقرب من الحدود المصرية.

<div>سيطر علينا الذعر. بثقة في غريزتي، سارعت إلى قبض حفنة من الرمل وأخمدت النار. ألقينا بأنفسنا جميعًا على الأرض -أنا و رواء والأطفال - بحثًا عن أي شكل من أشكال الأمان. حاول أزواجنا طمأنتنا، لكن الخوف كان طاغيًا.

<div>وبنفس السرعة التي بدأ بها الهجوم، توقفت الأباتشي عن القصف، لكن ذلك لم يكن سوى مقدمة لهجوم من طراد حربي. القصف المدوي الآن كان موجهًا نحو منطقتنا. بقي الرجال في الخارج لمراقبة الوضع، بينما لجأنا أنا و رواء والأطفال إلى داخل الخيمة. في تلك اللحظة المفعمة باليأس، لم يكن أمامنا سوى التمسك بالأمل اليائس في أن تحمينا الخيمة الهشة.

<div>الآن الساعة العاشرة مساءً، عاد الجيران إلى خيمتهم التي تبعد أربعة أمتار فقط عن خيمتنا. قرر زوجي أن يرفع علمًا أبيض يبلغ ارتفاعه ثلاثة أمتار أمام خيمتنا، على أمل أن يُشير للجنود الإسرائيليين بأننا مدنيون. القصف كان مستمرًا بلا هوادة. الصواريخ من الطرادات، ومروحيات الأباتشي، والدبابات، جميعها تهاجم في نفس الوقت. كنا نتنفس بصعوبة، مشلولين بالخوف، غير قادرين على الحركة. لوهلة، ظننت أن قلبي سيتوقف. حاول زوجي طمأنتي، قائلاً إنهم يستهدفون المباني وليس الخيام، وأنهم يعرفون أننا نازحون مدنيوون. ولكن الوضع استمر في التدهور. من خلال النافذة الصغيرة في خيمتنا، كنا نشاهد الانفجارات من حولنا. كنا نصغي في صمت، غير قادرين على الحركة، بالكاد قادرين على التنفس، خائفين جدًا حتى من استخدام المرحاض.

<div>الآن الساعة 4:30 صباحًا، وكل دقيقة من هذا الكابوس كانت تبدو وكأنها أبدية. الدبابات كانت قريبة جدًا لدرجة أن الأرض كانت تهتز من تحتنا. ضوء أصفر كان يقترب، يزداد سطوعًا مع كل ثانية، وصوت الهجوم كان يصم الآذان. سرعان ما أدركت أن الضوء قادم من جرافة تكتسح الخيام بلا رحمة - ومعها الناس الذين ما زالوا أحياء داخلها.

<div>تمسكت بسوسو ومحمد، أطفالي كانوا يرتجفون من الخوف. أمسك زوجي بأحمد وإبراهيم عن قرب. كان قلبي ينبض بشدة. القصف كان فوق رؤوسنا. حاولت تهدئة الأطفال، واعدةً إياهم بأننا سنجد مكانًا أكثر أمانًا في الصباح. ولكن قبل أن نتمكن من فعل أي شيء، تقدمت دباباتان نحو خيمتنا وبدأت بإطلاق النار بشكل مكثف. سمعت صرخات جارتنا وأطفالها، ثم فجأة ساد الصمت. كانوا جميعًا قد رحلوا. صرخت بأن دورنا قادم. وسط الفوضى، ألقى زوجي نفسه فوق الأولاد ليحميهم. ثم أُطلق عليهم النار من قبل الدبابات الاسرائليه. رأيت الدماء تنزف من جروحهم، وفي تلك اللحظة المرعبة نفسها، تحطمت رأس محمد. لم يكن لديه حتى الوقت ليصرخ. شاهدت عاجزةً أحمد ومحمد ووالدهم أكرم وهم ينزفون حتى الموت أمام عيني. أمسكت سوسو وحاولت الهروب من الدبابة من الباب الٱخر للخيمة ولكن سرعان ماتقدمت الدبابة باتجاهي وقامت بدهسي انا وطفلتي بعدما اصابتنا في الخيمة و دفنتنا في الرمال. نظر إليّ أكرم للمرة الأخيرة، وصوته ضعيف. طلب مني أن أسامحه إن كان قد آذاني يومًا - كان ينزف لكنه لم يكن قد مات بعد.

<div>ركض إبراهيم نحوي، وألقى بذراعيه حولي وأنا ممدة في الرمل مع سوسو. همست له بأن يستلقي ويتظاهر بأنه ميت. صوته كان يرتجف وهو يبكي، متسائلًا لماذا كانت الدبابة والجرافة تهاجمنا مرة أخرى - لقد فعلوا ما يكفي بالفعل. لا أدري كم من الوقت بقينا هكذا، محاطين بصمت الموت. كان ولداي أحمد ومحمد يرقدان بلا حراك، وقد سُلبت حياتهما بسبب القصف الاسرائلي الذي لا يرحم. لم أستطع سوى المشاهدة وهما ينزفان حتى الموت. ثم، في المسافة، رأيت امرأة تمر حاملةً علمًا أبيض. تملكني اليأس، وصرخت طالبةً منها أن تأخذ إبراهيم معها. قلت لها إنه لم يُصب وأنه يعرف الطريق إلى منزل جده. حثثت ابني على الذهاب مع المرأة، لتساعده في إيصاله إلي بيت جده بسلام. كان وجهه يغمره الدموع، لكنه تبعها على مضض. بينما كان زوجي، الذي كان لا يزال ينزف، يحثني على أن أطلب من المرأة مساعدتنا في الحصول على سيارة إسعاف. ولكن عندما فعلت، أجابت: "لا توجد سيارات إسعاف، ولا صحفيون. الدبابات حاصرت المنطقة - لا أحد يجرؤ على الاقتراب."

<div>بعد أن غادرت المرأة، حاولت التحدث إلى زوجي، لكنه لم يرد. لم أتمكن من معرفة ما إذا كان قد فقد الوعي أو أنه قد فارق الحياة بالفعل. كان الألم لا يطاق - رصاصة أصابت ساقي وكانت تنزف بغزارة، وكان لدي جروح في أجزاء أخرى من جسدي. سوسو أيضًا كانت قد أصيبت برصاص. في تلك اللحظة، تحدثت إلى سوسو، مرتاحةً لأنها كانت لا تزال مستيقظة وقادرة على الرد. جمعت كل ما تبقى لدي من قوة وقررت الزحف إلى مكان آمن مع سوسو على ظهري. عندما بدأت في الزحف، كان الألم مروعًا، وصرخت، متوسلةً الله أن يمنحني القوة للبقاء على قيد الحياة، حتى أتمكن من تربية إبراهيم وسوسو.

<div>كانت صرخاتي عالية جدًا، لدرجة أنني شعرت بأنها لابد أن تكون قد وصلت إلى السماء. سمعها قناص وأطلق النار عليّ، مما تسبب في ألم حارق في كتفي عندما أصبت. رغم الألم، واصلت الزحف مع سوسو لمسافة كيلومترين حتى وصلت أخيرًا إلى مجموعة من الرجال من أهل غزة الذين ساعدونا في الوصول إلى المستشفى. بقيت أنا وسوسو في المستشفى لمدة شهر. ولحسن الحظ، تم لم شملنا في النهاية مع ابني وأمي وأختي، وانتقلنا للعيش في خيمتهم.

<div>على الرغم من أننا نجونا، إلا أنني وسوسو نعاني من مضاعفات خطيرة - بالكاد نستطيع المشي ونحن بحاجة ماسة للعلاج الطبي خارج غزة. إبراهيم يعاني من صدمة نفسية شديدة جراء تلك الليلة؛ غضبه وعنفه هما علامات على مدى معاناته. إنه بحاجة إلى علاج نفسي وسلوكي فوري. سأكون ممتنة للغاية لأي دعم يساعدنا في مغادرة غزة والحصول على الرعاية الطبية التي نحن في أمس الحاجة إليها.

<div>My name is Rajaa Hamed Younes Hamdouneh and this coming October 17th, I will celebrate my 36th birthday, I live in Gaza. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine how drastically life could change in the blink of an eye. Amidst the chaos of Israeli war on Gaza, I lost my beloved husband and our two precious children, Mohammad, 14 years old, and Ahmad, 11. My husband, Akram—whose name means "generous" and who truly was the most generous person in all senses—was taken from me as well. I watched them die right before my eyes. Miraculously, I survived with my daughter, Sanna, who we call Susu, only 3 years old, and my son, Ibrahim, who is 6. Both Susu and I were struck by bullets, and a tank ran over us. Our harrowing story began on June 6th, 2024. If you have five minutes, please read my story.

<div>It started as an ordinary day in the midst of war. As the sun began to set, I was baking bread near our tent with my neighbor, Rawa, and my son, Ahmad. The children were playing nearby, and for a brief moment, it felt like a peaceful afternoon. But suddenly, the roar of an Apache helicopter shattered the calm. Known as one of the most formidable attack helicopters in the world, the American-made machine unleashed a fierce assault on houses in Rafah, near the Egyptian border.

<div>Panic gripped us. Trusting my instincts, I quickly grabbed a handful of sand and smothered the fire. We all dropped to the ground—Rawa, the children, and I—seeking any semblance of safety. Our husbands tried to reassure us, but the fear was overwhelming.

<div>Just as abruptly as it began, the Apache's assault ceased, only to be followed by an attack from a warship Cruiser. The thunderous bombardment was now directed at our area. The men stayed outside to monitor the situation while Rawa, the children, and I sought refuge inside the tent. In that moment of despair, all we could do was cling to the desperate hope that the fragile tent would somehow protect us.

<div>Now it’s 10 p.m., the neighbors returned to their tent, just four meters away from ours. My husband decided to plant a three-meter-high white flag in front of our tent, hoping to signal to the Israeli soldiers that we were civilians. The bombardment is relentless. The cruise missiles, Apache helicopters, and tanks are all attacking simultaneously. We’re breathing heavily, paralyzed by fear, too terrified to move. For a moment, I thought my heart might stop. My husband tried to reassure me, saying they were targeting buildings, not tents, and that they knew we were civilian refugees who followed the Israeli orders and moved to a safe zone. But the situation kept deteriorating. Through the small window of our tent, we could see the explosions all around us. We listened in silence, unable to move, barely able to breathe, too frightened even to use the toilet.

<div>It’s now 4:30 a.m., and every minute of this nightmare has felt like an eternity. The tanks are so close that the ground trembles beneath us. A yellow light is approaching, growing brighter with each second, and the noise of the attack is deafening. I soon realize that the light is coming from a bulldozer, which is mercilessly sweeping away tents—and the people still alive inside them.

<div>I clung to Susu and Mohammad, my children trembling with fear. My husband held Ahmad and Ibrahim close. My heart pounded so hard it felt like it was in my throat. The bombardment was right on top of us. I tried to comfort the kids, promising that we’d find a safer place in the morning. But before we could even react, two tanks rolled up to our tent and began firing relentlessly. I heard the screams of our neighbor and her children, and then—suddenly—there was silence. They were all gone. I screamed that it was our turn next. Amid the chaos, my husband threw himself over the boys to protect them. Then they were shot by Israeli tanks. I saw the blood pouring from their wounds, and in that same horrifying moment, Mohammad’s head was shattered. He didn’t even have time to scream. I watched helplessly as Ahmad, Mohammad, and their father, Akram, bled out in front of me. I held Susu tightly and tried to escape to the other side of the tent, but a tank roared toward us, crushing us beneath its weight and burying us in the sand. Akram looked at me one last time, his voice weak. He asked me to forgive him if he had ever hurt me—he was bleeding but not yet dead.

<div>Ibrahim ran to me, throwing his arms around me as I lay in the sand with Susu. I whispered to him to lie down and pretend to be dead. His voice trembled as he cried out, asking why the tank and bulldozer were attacking us again—they had already done enough.

<div>I have no idea how long we stayed like that, surrounded by the silence of death. My two sons lay motionless, their lives taken by the relentless violence. I could only watch as they bled to death. Then, in the distance, I saw a woman passing by, carrying a white flag. Desperation surged through me, and I screamed for her to take Ibrahim with her. I told her he wasn’t injured and that he knew the way to his grandparents’ house. I urged my son to go with the woman, so she could help him to get safely to his grandparents home. With tears streaming down his face, he reluctantly followed her. My husband, who was still bleeding, urged me to ask the woman for help in getting us an ambulance. But when I did, she responded, "There are no ambulances, no journalists. The tanks have surrounded the area—no one dares to come near."

<div>After the lady left, I turned to my husband and tried to speak to him, but he didn’t respond. I couldn’t tell if he had passed out or if he was already gone. The pain was overwhelming—my leg had been shot and was bleeding heavily, and I had wounds in other parts of my body. Susu had been shot too.

<div>In that moment, I spoke to Susu, relieved that she was still awake and able to respond. I gathered every ounce of strength I had left and decided to crawl to safety with Susu on my back. As I started to crawl, the pain was excruciating, and I screamed out, begging God to give me the strength to stay alive, so I could raise Ibrahim and Susu.

<div>My screams were so loud, I felt they must have reached the heavens. A sniper heard them and fired at me, sending searing pain through my shoulder as I was hit. Despite the agony, I kept crawling with Susu for another two kilometers until I finally came across a group of men who helped us reach a hospital.

<div>Susu and I were hospitalized for a month. Thankfully, I was eventually reunited with my son, my mother, and my sister, and we moved into their tent.

<div>Though we survived, Susu and I are left with severe complications—we can barely walk and are in urgent need of medical treatment outside of Gaza. Ibrahim is deeply traumatized by that night; his anger and violence are signs of how much he’s suffering. He needs immediate psychological and behavioral therapy.
