<div>Today, many of my dear friends who live in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica wake up to unimaginable devastation. Their homes were pummeled and, in most cases, families lost the majority of their possessions. My friends are overwhelmed by the scope of destruction and, what has become a displacement disaster across the island has, no doubt, become particularly pronounced within the village that has become so very dear to me.

<div>For those who may be unaware, I developed a special rapport with a Rastafarian based community several years ago and, since that time, have been energized about helping to bring the school and village needed resources. Some of you may recall that back in late 2021 I launched a fundraiser in an effort to create a women's shelter, a feature which was desperately needed for young families drawn to the village seeking a better life. While I'm thrilled to note that the project was completed this past year and, as of this week, was housing 9 families, the shelter largely has since fallen victim to the hurricane.

<div>To say my heart is filled with sorrow for their loss would be a serious understatement. I've become extremely close with many of the individuals who call the mountain home and I'm intent on playing a meaningful role in helping them set the course for a brighter future.  In addition to work on the shelter, our funds will be directed toward other dwellings and community based structures were were badly harmed as a result of the recent disaster.

<div>For those willing to contribute to this heartfelt cause, I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart. Know full well that every single act of kindness, no matter how insignificant, can truly yield a positive outcome. This effort not only means a great deal to me, but far more so to those whose lives have been damaged.
