HURRICANE DORIAN RELIEF for ABACO SHELTER

The aftermath of Hurricane Dorian is difficult to truly comprehend. We have all seen the pictures of the complete destruction that Abaco Islands endured. So many have reached out and donated to the initial emergency collections right after the storm. We thank you for your kindness and generosity.
The second stage of need is beginning NOW. We have been on the ground several times along with South Florida
Lending Hands to bring supplies, transport animals, and talk to the people who are still there. On our trip down last week a local news team joined us to witness first hand the immense nightmare that is left behind.
The people are desperate for our help to rebuild. There are still some locals that are left and want to rebuild their lives. however, they no longer have complete homes or jobs in order make money so they can get their lives back to some sense of normal. Their infrastructure may be nonexistent, but their will and determination is STRONG.
We are asking for your help to assist us in rebuilding the Abaco shelter to help the victims that remain.We cannot do this alone. We met with Chris Roberts, who has run the shelter for over 25 years and is determined to rebuild in order to house the innocent from the elements. Right now, there is absolutely no protection from the rain and the sun except for hiding underneath left over debris.
We have a plan in place thanks to some amazing individuals who have donated the use of container ships and planes to get the supplies to Abaco. The issue now is getting the supplies and the manpower to help. Once we raise enough money to provide supplies , we will not only be able to rebuild the shelter, but also to employ the local people to help with the labor. That means the start of a source of income which will in turn aid them them in rebuilding their own homes and lives. One step at a time is all we can hope for, but we need your HELP IN TAKING THAT STEP!
