Escuela del Mundo needs a Palapa!
Escuela del Mundo is a sweet little Montessori school tucked away in the quaint Mexican town of San Pancho, in the Riviera Nayarit. Learning in Spanish and English everyday, with the hands-on and collaborative play education principles of Maria Montesori, the school spans from toddlers to tweens from all over Mexico, The United States, Canada and Argentina.
Funded mostly by student tuition and small town fundraisers with volunteer help from the parents, the school is still in need of our help. The most recent Christmas party fundraiser was to raise money for the Palapa (thatched roof made of dried palm leaves) that houses the cafeteria where the children eat their lunch. The current one is falling apart daily and is held together by tarps. This is vital before the rains come next season. The Christmas party set out to help bring funding to the project, but would only raise near 10% of what was needed. The Project total is $36,000 pesos, which roughly converts to about $2000 USD.
We are reaching out to you guys to help give our kids shelter during their school days because a little help from everyone can go a long way even if you can only spare a few bucks! We are extremely grateful for any support coming our way and hope everyone is having a wonderful New Year and excited for 2018!
