Rebuild the McGary home

Friday, January 26th at around 6 am, my boyfriend's parents and youngest brother (Justin, Cassandra, and Jonah) woke up to their RV and right side of the house in a blazing fire. The family rapidly evacuated all pets and watched as firemen did all they good to save the left half of the house.

While no one (person or animal) was injured, a majority of the family heirlooms, guns and jewelry from grandparents, and memorabilia has been lost. The right half of the house, including two rooms and an attic, have been damaged and the family has been told to stay out of the house as much as possible. With the damage, there is a looming possibility their home can be condemned and the only way to move back in, is if repairs are made soon.

In the meantime, the family has been working night and day to look through ash for salvageable items, and clean up. They have been staying in a local motel which they are also paying for out of pocket (no insurance). They are trying to continue with their normal life of work, school, and practice. Jonah is in his freshmen year at Fife High, playing football and wrestling.

This goal of $13,500 is a quote given to us by repairmen to remove what is left of the burnt RV skeleton, repair the left of the house, and help pay for the motel.

If you cannot donate money, time and connections are helpful too. They are in need of hands to help clean up. Also if you know of anyone who can get a deal on large dumpsters, construction work or gunsmithing, please let us know. Cassandra also is selling items that were saved on Offer-Up. Please help the McGary family as they are one of the sweetest families I know, and without hesitation would help any one of us if we were in a tough spot. They are good people, and they need as much help as we can offer.
