My name is Marika Fuller and Paula Knox is my neighbor, sister from another mister, confidant, best bud and shoulder to cry on. We have been neighbors and friends for 12 years.
On August 27th Harvey hit and flooded our whole neighborhood (including my home but I'm one of the lucky ones with flood insurance) and Paula and Frank suffered a devastating loss when Hurricane Harvey dumped +40" of rain on League City and their house flooded and stayed flooded for 3 days. They had to wade out of our neighborhood in waist deep water with only their clothes on their backs and their cat in a carrier to get to safety.
In a perfect world they would have had flood insurance but since their neighborhood is not in the flood plane, this is not a requirement. They didn't have flood insurance when this disaster struck and with Frank having been without a job for a few months, things are as you can imagine, tight.
The money raised here will be used to purchase construction material such as sheet rock, flooring, appliances, beds, furniture, etc.
I'd like for us to come together and help Frank and Paula re-build their home so their sons Zane and Jake can continue growing up in the neighborhood they've lived most of their lives. I would like to keep my 'family' close but most of all I want them to have a little ease of mind, knowing that they won't have to worry about how to fund their rebuild.
