Nestled on the beautiful Dampier Peninsula, the Ardyaloon community has long thrived by the ocean's bounty, with the Ardyaloon Hatchery at its heart. For years, the hatchery has been more than just a business—providing jobs, preserving cultural knowledge, and attracting visitors eager to experience our unique marine life and culture.

But disaster struck. Two weeks ago, the Ardyaloon Hatchery, our primary source of income and pride, was severely damaged— the roof was ripped off, some tanks destroyed, equipment ruined, and 90 percent of our marine life has perished. The loss has been heartbreaking.

The Ardyaloon Hatchery has been the major tourism attraction on the Dampier Peninsula for decades. We are hoping to find major funding to redevelop it but this would be 3-5 years away. In the meantime we need to create a tourism product that can sustain the community. Through your support we are hoping to build a small section of roof which would house four tanks filled with marine life. This would give us the opportunity to welcome tour operators and visitors to enjoy our story, history and culture and keep some much needed income coming into our community. This would help to protect the jobs and services that The Hatchery income supports.
