I would first like to acknowledge God's rich blessings in sparing their lives through this harrowing storm.
My Parents, Teresa Otero Tollinchi and Francisco Antonio Tollinchi, lost their beloved wooden house and all in it to Hurricane Maria. The house did not sustain the powerful winds of Maria, resulting in a complete loss of the roofing, and a dangerously compromised structure.
WE NEED YOUR HELP IN RAISING $40,000
The sentimental value of the house runs deep in Teresa's veins, as her home was built by her own Dad, years ago when he was a young man.
Many years later, Teresa acquired it as her retirement home, after having worked many grueling years in NYC.
For years Teresa's home has been center stage to all vacations and holidays for her three kids and seven grandchildren.
Thinking ahead, the Family has decided to rebuild, making it a concrete structure instead of its present wooden frame.
The estimated cost will exceed $80,000. My siblings and I will be footing some of the cost, however we seek to raise $40,000 through GoFundMe.
The donations received will go towards buying cement, steel, concrete blocks, plumbing and electrical fixtures and fittings, and to cover the labor cost of getting all of this done.
I intend to deposit the GoFundMe donations to my Bank of America checking account, and then make a physical transfer of the funds to my Mother's checking account held at Banco Popular.
This campaign means a lot to me because my Mother is the primary caregiver for my Father, who suffers from early onset dementia.
Having their home back would restore emotional stability and comfort , that they both thrive on.
Thank you so much for giving my Parents' story your attention, and God Bless You.
