Rebuild Star Performance

On Wednesday, Jan 3,  Katie Grinnell got a phone call that water was pouring out of the back of her studio's building. She got here as quickly as she could to find the entire studio, including the floors, the lobby, the dance floor, and her props, sitting in more than 6 inches of water. After climbing over benches to avoid stepping in the water to get to the braker box and cutting the power,  she then found the issue in the bathroom. Somehow a commercial grade braided pipe line had frayed apart and sent water pouring through Star Performance Dance Center. Everything in storage in the basement was also distroyed. There was so much water it created what looked like an ice skating rink in the back parking lot.

If you ask Katie what the studio means to her she will tell you that it is her life long dream, her pride, her joy, her love, and her life. She doesn't consider it "work". The love she has for her studio and the students she teaches is unparalleled. She wanted to be a dance teacher and own her own studio since she was a little girl. This is a completely devestating and heartbreaking accident for her and the almost 100 dancers who consider this studio like a second home.

Anyone who has met Miss Katie knows that she is the most deticated, caring, passionate woman ever. This is a case of a bad thing happening to not only a good person, but one of the best people that there could be. SPDC is like a family and this family needs help.

Katie needs to get her studio back up and running. Insurance will take a significant amount of time before she will be able to collect and start rebuilding. Her competition team is scheduled to compete in just about 2 months. Time is not something that she has. She need to get her dancers back into her studio, to continue to train, and for them to know that it is a place that no matter what, they can count on.

Please help these dancers and their amazing studio director by making a donation of any size to help get the bare bones back into her dance room so she and her dancers can get back to what they do best! Katie has given so much to her dancers and her community, and now we can give her the help she needs!
