<div>My grandmother, Rosa Washington, has always been the heart of our family. For 61 years, she and my grandfather, Harry Washington, made their home in Altadena, CA—a modest house filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. It was here they raised their three children, celebrated milestones, and supported their neighbors. My grandfather Harry worked tirelessly for the City of Pasadena for over 30 years, dedicating his life to serving the community he loved.

<div>But the past year has brought unimaginable heartbreak. On August 24, 2024, my grandfather passed away after a long and difficult battle with dementia and Parkinson’s disease. Losing him was devastating for our family, but especially for my grandmother, who had been his constant caregiver and partner for nearly seven decades.

<div>Just as she began to navigate life without him, tragedy struck again. Less than six months later, the Eaton Fire tore through Altadena, destroying her beloved home. The house that had been her sanctuary, where she raised her children and mourned her husband, was reduced to ashes.
</div>

</div>
<div>The loss is overwhelming. In the blink of an eye, everything she had built with my grandfather—photos, heirlooms, and a lifetime of memories—was gone. She is now left with nothing but the clothes on her back and the love of her family and community.
</div>

</div>
<div>We are asking for your help to give my grandmother a fresh start. The funds raised will go directly toward replacing essential belongings and helping her restore her life after this devastating loss. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference in ensuring Rosa can find stability and hope after enduring so much heartbreak.
