‌Rockingham Acres- a garden center in Derry, New Hampshire, caught fire in the early morning of March 29th, 2018 . A sense of hardship struck the family, already working tirelessly to prepare for the Spring season ahead and now having to contend with a main growing facility severely damaged with plants and product destroyed.

Rockingham Aces has been family owned since it first opened its doors in 1983. Owners Bill and Jean Smith have become cherished members of the community, whose selfless outreach, compassion, and care for their fellow neighbors is the catalyst for this fundraiser.
Over the decades, they have helped strengthen the community by:

• Sponsoring multiple non-profits
• Providing a place for educational field trips
• Visiting classrooms to share their passion for horticulture • Hosting events for those with special needs
• And more

Currently, Bill and Jean are active members of Sunday River Church (formerly North Ridge Church), as well as Maranatha Ministries. They also serve at an outreach center for children in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Bill & Jean are gifted horticulturists with an enthusiastic passion to help others. They see needs and challenges in individuals lives and instinctively offer any and all resources possible, never a thought as to what they will sacrifice. Their hearts truly reflect that of God's, never asking for anything and humbly living each day with a hunger to walk in His ways, demonstrating the true strength of love.

This is evident by their actions. Always watchful of neighbors, they’ve taken care of elderly friends like Kay Chism until her passing, who lived across the street. Over the years they helped care for her property, clearing snow after a storm, keeping her lawn tidy in the Summer, and often just checking in to make sure she was alright.

So today, we’d like to offer them a helping hand as we celebrate a business and a couple who have given so much to their friends, family, and community.
