This woman is a local historian and has spent her life working tirelessly for the local community, playing a key part in various conservation and community programs, including the hedgerow society. She also visits schools as a heritage expert, nursing homes and organises day trips for senior citizens.
On the night of the 18th of February her little cottage burned down.
This was a terrible accident which has left her with nothing, no possessions, no books, no home.
Unfortunately the insurance had lapsed.
While so far, the response from the local community has been fantastic, we need more support than they can provide.
A few of us have set up a fundraising page and Facebook group to try to help rebuild her home.
This woman is in this situation through no fault of her own, simply she cared for and spent so much time and effort for the local community that she didn’t have time to think about herself.
We ask that you please like and share on Facebook and please visit our gofundme page and donate whatever you can.
She has spent her life helping the community, now we hope that in her time of need the local, national and global community can do their bit to help her.
