Help Rebuild Our Crumbling Primary School

The photo above is the current school building for classes 1 & 2 at the BDEC Primary School in Tikonko Town, Bo District, Sierra Leone. This was the same building where I enrolled for my 1st-grade education during my childhood days. Today, I am proud and grateful to hold three Master's Degrees from very reputable schools in The United States, including George Washington University. But, what good is my education if the place that gave me the foundation for my academic success crumbles while still alive?
In 2020, the descendants of Tikonko Chiefdom living in the United States came together to organize and find ways to give back to their community. Together, we agreed that the primary school that gave some of us the hope and foundation to higher education is dilapidated and needs to be rebuilt. We resolved to change the narrative of the decaying schools in Tikonko town and its surrounding villages. We resolved to make financial contributions and seek meaningful partnerships to rebuild the crumbling schools in that community. We unanimously agreed that pride in education starts with the place of learning.
The outcome of our initial deliberations led to the establishment of the Tikonko Opportunity Partners Inc., a 501 (c) 3 organization registered with the State of Virginia. While we are still in the organization's formative stages, we are eager to act, and we need to act now. However, we solely rely on membership contributions and partnerships from generous people like you to meet our goals.
Our immediate goal is to rebuild the BDEC Primary School, one building at a time. We want to start by replacing the building in the above photo with a brand new two-classrooms building by April 2022. Our projected budget for the entire project is $20,000.00, and we hope to get this done in four phases.
Phase 1 of the project (projected to be completed on May 31, 2021) includes the foundation and a small portion of the building). We are seeking partnership to achieve this goal and would like to count on you. Please join us with your generous financial contribution to help construct a new two-classroom building for students at the BDEC Primary School in Tikonko Town - Sierra Leone. No contribution is too big or too small for this venture; be a part of it and contribute to a course that will change lives.
