Help Me Assist Montego Bay and surrounding Areas of Jamaica After Hurricane Melissa
Hi everyone, my name is Malaika, and I was born and raised in Jamaica. I currently live in Eastern Florida, but my heart and roots will always be in Jamaica.
My heart is heavy seeing the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa, a catastrophic Category 5 storm that swept through my beautiful island—destroying homes, farms, schools, hospitals, and roads.
Many families, including my own, have lost everything—homes, livestock, and livelihoods. Entire communities are now displaced, struggling without food, clothing, shelter, or electricity.
I will be focusing on my home town Montego Bay (Ex: Catherine Hall, Norwood, etc.) and surrounding areas.
As a proud Jamaican living abroad, I feel a deep responsibility to give back and support those in desperate need. I will be using these funds to help my family members and community rebuild
I will be sending barrels traveling to Jamaica and personally trying to get on the ground by end of November or starting of December.
Your donations will go directly toward:
Shipping and transporting critical relief supplies to Jamaica.
Purchasing food, water, and medical necessities.
Providing clothing, diapers, and sanitary items.
Supplying building materials to repair damaged homes.
Buying cleaning supplies, tents, sleeping bags.
Supporting local Jamaican businesses when purchasing supplies and materials to help stimulate the economy during recovery.
All items and funds will be accounted for and documented to ensure full transparency throughout this process.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference in helping families get back on their feet. Jamaica has always been full of love, strength, and unity—and together, we can help our people rise again.
Thank you so much for your support and compassion.
