<div><strong>A Community Devastated—But Not Defeated</strong>
</div>
<div>Hurricane Melissa has left behind massive destruction across Jamaica, particularly in Western, Southern, and Northeastern parishes. Among the hardest hit are our People Living with HIV (PLHIV) members and staff of JN+—who now face displacement, homelessness, and the interruption of lifesaving medical care.

<div>Homes have been swept away, roofs destroyed, and personal belongings lost, including HIV medications and identification.
</div>
<div>Basic public services like electricity and water are either unreliable or completely unavailable, and many are without access to food, shelter, or medical care.

<div><strong>Why Your Help is Urgently Needed</strong>

<div>People living with HIV already face heightened vulnerability due to health conditions, stigma, and poverty. Disasters like Hurricane Melissa deepen these inequities.

<div>Access to HIV treatment and continuity of care is now at serious risk. Without urgent intervention, we could see treatment interruptions, worsening health, and avoidable loss of life.

<div><strong>What We’re Doing—And What We Need</strong>
</div>

</div>
<div>At the Jamaican Network of Seropositives (JN+) and the ASHE Otaheite Foundation, we are launching an emergency relief drive to support PLHIV and their families across the affected areas in Jamaica.
</div>

</div>
<div>We are mobilising to provide sustained survival support for up to <strong>4 months</strong>, to include:
</div>

</div>
<div>•	Food supplies and clean water
</div>
<div>•	Sanitary and hygiene products
</div>
<div>•	HIV medications drop off and transport support to clinics
</div>
<div>•	Nutritional support for those with chronic illness
</div>
<div>•	Emergency shelter materials (tarpaulins, bedding, roofing)
</div>
<div>•	Basic utilities (solar lights, batteries, cooking gas), etc.
</div>

<div>Our goal is to ensure that PLHIV continue taking their HIV medications and have what they need to survive and recover in the weeks and months following this crisis.

<div>The Jamaican Network of Seropositives (JN+) is Jamaica’s longest-standing national organisation led by and for People Living with HIV (PLHIV). Founded in 1999, JN+ works to promote the health, rights, and dignity of PLHIV through advocacy, service delivery, and community empowerment.
