Rebuild Hope for Hannah & Her Kids after Hurricane Helene

Donation protected
Hey yall! My name is Tracie Adams with Appalacian Disaster Coalition & Carolina Compassion Network. I live in BurkeCounty North Carolina. I’ve been on the ground since the first week after the storm.
If you have been following me on social media you have seen the work I’ve done.

The biggest thing I do is help connect people and share needs from survivors here in Western Northern Carolina! Thank y’all so much for the continued support.

This GoFund is for Hannah Hopper & her 2 kids.I did secure a nice camper for them which will be signed over to them; however it’s not cheap for campground rentals these days. Plus she lost literally everything so she needs to rebuild her life from scratch. Anything helps so thank you so much!! Bless y’all.

Here is Hannah’s story:

My name is Hannah, I was born and raised in the Crabtree iron duff part of NC. I have 2 kids a girl that's 12 will be 13 in a couple days and a boy that's 9. We had moved to Clyde NC a few years ago when me and their father divorced after a terrible domestic violence relationship. We think we're getting back up on our feet and on September 25 2024 another life changing circumstance happens.

Hurricane Helene, I didn't picture it being as bad as it was but we lost everything we had moved including our house. My family was watching the house from a little ways via drone I was in the trailer trying to get a few more things that we had to have. Next thing I know I'm listening to my house snap in pieces.

I rush to the truck there was only one way in and one way out I put the 4x4 on and head away from the water up the bank towards the tree line I had just made it out of the flood I had sat in my truck until the water had went down enough for me to get back to my trailer.

Well our house did not make it the pigeon river had took our whole house completely off the property and was nowhere in sight. I had called my two children to see if they was fine and they were thank God everyone was safe.

They let me know that they watched our house go down the river on drone video. We may have lost everything we've ever had in that horrible storm but all three of us was safe and together.

So now I'm trying to rebuild our lives back little at a time and it's hard to do that being a single mother so anything helps.

Thank you so much
