Rebuild Greg and Kathy Kesler's life.

On Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, my cousin Greg Kesler's life was changed. He was told, probably by First Responders, that he needed to get out NOW! Fire was spreading into the mobile home park he lived in with his wife Kathy, and was at the back of his home. "GET OUT NOW!" He only had time to get his dog and car keys. Nothing else! Not his oxygen bottles that help him breathe, not his medications, not even his cell phone! NOTHING! He managed to get their dog into his SUV and drive away as the fire began melting the plastic of his right side mirror and burning their home!
Kathy fortunately was at work with their other car and safe. She drove up to the horrible scene of smoke and flames as her neighborhood burned. Imagine her horror of not knowing if her husband and their dog were safe!
Greg and I are both 72 years old and retired. His lifetime of memorabilia and keepsakes were in that home. Photos and albums of all the people and pets that are so important. They raised and showed Leonberger dogs. Sometimes winning 1st in class and more. The trophies are now ash. All clothing, appliances, and everything we all use every day are ash. Their home is ash - it's all gone!
Look around you right now at all the things you have in your home. Now imagine it all burned to ash in only a few minutes. What would it cost you to replace those things? How long? Especially on retirement income. I do not know what it will cost them to get back on their feet. But I know it will be a lot. I will raise the goal of this fund every time we get close to meeting it. I'm allowed to do that. They need it!

His daughter Julie told me that a few days ago, they along with other victims, were allowed to go into the local thrift store and pick out a few items of clothing for free. They need much more!
