Rebuild Freeman Home

Donation protected

The #MendocinoLakeComplex started with extreme winds and a downed powerline near the home of a member of our community. Sharon Freeman was forced to leave her home with her life in the early morning hours of October 9, 2017. The family’s home and belongings were lost in the fire. Randy Freeman was with his son Marcus Freeman hunting in the Hull Mountain area and did not find out about the loss of his home until he came back.

Everyone who knows this family knows that they are the most generous, selfless people imaginable who would give you the shirt off their backs if you needed it. Randy works at the local school, as does Sharon who specializes in aiding children with special needs. After all they have done for us and given to our community, it’s an honor for us to be able to come around them in support during this time.

With so much bad news and uncertainty in the world today the Freeman family is a bright spot. They’re there for those who need a helping hand – responding with strength and generosity. The world needs more people like the Freemans.

We’re not asking for much for this family, we’re simply trying to replace their small modular house and give them a home to return to. Our goal is to raise $50,000.00. This amount is roughly the cost of a modular home. Money is tight for many of us, if you don’t have much to give that’s okay. Please consider giving to this fund on a weekly or monthly basis. Giving $200, $100, $50, or $25 a month makes a huge impact - we’ll be keeping this campaign up as the needs for the family and our suffering community continues.

If the Freemans have personally impacted you or your family with their love and generosity, or if you are affected by the story and want to make an impact that matters, please join us. It’s time to start laboring together to rebuild Potter Valley and surrounding communities – starting with the Freeman home and moving on from there.

"But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from You, and we have given You only what comes from Your hand." 1 Chronicles 29:14  NIV

(Edit: The GoFundMe platform is requiring me to include this info for the protection of donors since there are a lot of scam accounts related to the NorCal fires right now. My name is Keely Brazil, I am from Potter Valley. I grew up on Old Wagon Road next door to the Freemans. This family has been very good to my family, my friends, my community, and myself in more ways than I can count. I'm organizing this on their behalf because it is the least I can do. We have set up Randy and Sharon's daughter Carey Williams as the direct beneficiary to this account so she can get these funds to her parents as they rebuild. Thanks for your support!)
