Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,

My name is Emily. I am reaching out on behalf of my good friend Erin Baker, who is facing an overwhelming challenge in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Like many in North Carolina, Erin lost her apartment and is now without the essentials that we often take for granted.

Erin is a wonderful person who's been a long-time member of our community in Boone, NC. She doesn't hesitate to be there for others in their times of need and is too kind to accept aid herself. So now, it’s our turn to support her. She has lost everything—clothes, furniture, personal items, cherished memories, and home. The emotional toll of this loss is heavy, and the financial burden of starting over is overwhelming.

As the floodwater rose, Erin was forced to evacuate with only her beloved cat Ember and a few items she could carry. Coming back to her apartment, she found out she had lost essentially all of her belongings, and more importantly, her apartment was deemed uninhabitable due to structural damages, leaving her to start from scratch.
