Rebuild Black Minnesota

Donation protected

Do you believe that Black people deserve to experience ownership?
Do you believe that Black people are capable of coming together and pooling resources?
Are you interested in the Black COMMUNITY having a chance to recover from injustices?

No matter your ethnicity or background if you answered yes to those first 3 questions then you are an ally and we appreciate your contribution even if it's a dollar.

The mission for this fundraiser is simple. Own the land. Own the building. Own the businesses.

A community is described as "a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common." This is how society views Black people. Because we have the same skin color (various tones) we must be a community and therefore when one of us does bad we must all be bad but when one of us does good that person must be the exception. This is how our mistreatment is justified by others. If I were to ask you where the Black community is located in Minnesota there would be plenty of answers. If I asked where middle class, upper middle class and wealthy Black people live as a community there would be no answer.  That's a problem.

The second part to the definition of community is a feeling of fellowship with others as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests and goals. This is the part of the definition that pertains to US. The people who took the time to read this description and donate. We have common interests and goals and that is to create a true community vs being bunched together and put in a box.

Developers will purchase the land and buildings lost/damaged due to the George Floyd (whom I knew) riots  for pennies on the dollar and once again leave us out of having ownership in our geographic communities. Because of this we want to raise as much as quickly as possible so we can benefit as well and recover. We also do not want to put our entire plan in detail out publicly because we do not want to be blocked from progress. Typically when a movement like this is started the first thing people do is lay out all of the plans and the next thing you know bids get denied, paperwork gets delayed or lost and slander ensues in order to keep the status quo. Once we raise our goal we will hold a DONORS ONLY meeting to reveal the next steps.
