Rebecca's cancer

This is our mother Becky. She is a mother of four and a grandmother of two. Becky is a nurse and has dedicated her life to taking care of others. She is a caring, compassionate, active, generous and an  intelligent lady. Which is why this has been so devastating. In November she started having debilitating neurological symptoms including inability to speak fluently or walk independently as well as nutrient deficiencies. Despite numerous test and procedures including MRI's, Lumbar puncture, Labs, Neuropsych evals, and two hospital stays specialist are unable to determine the exact diagnosis. Although through her pure determination not to give up she is able to walk and talk however her cognitive function varies as well as fatigue, pain and balance is still an issue. Subsequently during all of the testing a noduale was found in her thyroid which turned out to be cancerous. She is schedualed to have this removed however, we will not know additional treatment needs until after it is determined which type of cancer it is. Becky has not been able to work since November, FMLA and PTO have been exhausted as doctors have tried to diagnose the problem. She has no income and medical bills are exceeding over $12,000 so far and house hold bills are getting behind. Our goal includes an amount that will help with these expenses as well as additional medical expenses until she can obtain alternate benefits (approximately four months - one year to obtain disability).  Our mom is very independent and takes pride in taking care of her own needs however she needs help!
