Let's build a new park to honour Rebecca Schofield

Let's Build an Accessible Play Park to Honour Rebecca Schofield - an iconic young Canadian who changed the world. 

Rebecca (Becca) Schofield was a young woman whose vision for a kinder and gentler world went viral and captured the hearts and minds of millions around the globe.

After a long and bravely fought battle with cancer, Becca passed away -- but her influence and spirit of generosity and compassion remain alive and well. And for the past 2 years, a group of community volunteers from her hometown have been hard at work raising money to build an inclusive, accessible new community playground and name it in her honour.



The cost of this new accessible play park is $650,000, and so far just over $525,000 has been raised.  In partnership with the amazing team at Moncton West & Riverview Rotary Club we are thrilled to be launching this crowdfunding campaign to help us with the final push to make this dream a reality!

With the full support of Becca's parents, Anne and Darren Schofield, as well as the remarkably dedicated team at Frank L. Bowser elementary school, where Becca attended, and the District Education Council / Anglophone East School district - the park is set to be built by the second week of June 2019!



Every dollar counts as we close in on reaching our fundraising goal. Already people from around the world have come together to contribute to this amazing campaign.

From donations that were dropped off to the mailbox of the Schofield's home in Riverview, New Brunswick, to people ordering frozen Dairy Queen cakes and sending them to random addresses in the community - the groundswell of support from the community has been nothing short of inspiring.

Construction of the park (which can only happen with your help) is slated for early June, 2019! This is our final push!
