The Re’Anna Anderson Memorial Scholarship is in need of your help and contributions to continue making a difference in the future education of young adults attending Re’Anna’s former high school in Mohonasen School District.
The Re’Anna Anderson Memorial Scholarship was created in honor of, Re’Anna Anderson, our beautiful baby girl who tragically passed away far too early at the age of 15. Re’Anna struggled with Type 1 Diabetes that ultimately contributed to her untimely passing. For those who aren’t aware, T1D is an autoimmune disorder that occurs when a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin – the hormone that controls blood-sugar levels. T1D needs to be managed 24/7. The cause is still being researched, and there is no cure, according to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
However, Re’Anna was so much more than just another young person dealing with Type 1 Diabetes. She was an amazing role model and protector to her younger siblings who she absolutely adored and they adored her. Re’Anna was a young, outgoing, kind, and loving soul who enjoyed laughing, singing, and dancing. She will always be our Tik Tok queen. Re’Anna was a ray of sunlight who cared deeply for others. Re’Anna’s smile and personality lit up any room she entered, there is no doubt she was the “life of the party.”
No matter what Re’Anna was dealing with she was always positive, caring, and an extremely creative spirit who found happiness in helping and working with others. Re’Anna loved being involved with activities at school and being with friends. Those who knew her, know how special the friendships she created throughout her time at Mohonasen were to her. There is no better way to keep her memory alive and to honor her, than to continue to keep helping other young people continue their education and fulfill their dreams.
This scholarship will be awarded to student(s) who participate in a CTE program while attending Mohonasen High School in Rotterdam, NY. This will give the students that are interested the opportunity to apply for the scholarship by writing a 1-2 page essay about the CTE program they were involved in and how it has impacted their life and future goals, as well as their plans to influence the world beyond high school. This scholarship is not based on Grade Point Averages (GPA’s) like many others. This scholarship was made to help any student in need who is doing their best.
Please take the time to donate, any contribution helps to keep Re’Anna’s memory alive and help fund The Re’Anna Anderson Memorial Scholarship to help better another child(ren) future.
