Reagan Tokes Remembrance

March 13, 2017 spoke to us as the perfect day to post this letter of gratitude from our hearts. 22 years ago today, our lives were blessed with the arrival of our beautiful daughter Reagan Delaney Tokes. She was a true gift and words cannot describe the amount of love and joy she brought to our lives and to the lives of others. There is now a tremendous void that is our present and our future due to her tragic departure from this earthly life. We try to find comfort in our belief that her soul lives on in her rightful home in Heaven and shines down upon us all, lighting and guiding our paths.
The support and generosity that has been gifted to honor her legacy through this fund helps fill some of this void with love, for it is love that overcomes all and unites all. Even though we have experienced the worst, most unimaginable pain and loss, love continues to overshadow the darkness and evil. This love will continue to abound and uplift as the generous donations will bring change to the lives of others, allowing Reagan’s spirit to live on. This change we know fills her heart and ours with joy as it speaks volumes to the kind, caring soul she was and will continue to be through this legacy.
We are so humbled and grateful to all those who have donated and wish to share with you these words that are in a picture frame that hangs in our family home and is surrounded by Reagan’s school pictures throughout the years:
People are sometimes unreasonable and self-centered-love them anyway
If you do good, people may accuse you of selfish motives-do good anyway
If you are successful you may win false friends and true enemies-succeed anyway
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow-do good anyway
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight-build anyway
People you really want to help may attack you if you help them-help anyway
Give the world the best you have and you may get hurt-give the world your best anyway. The world is full of conflict, choose peace of mind anyway. ~ Anonymous
Thank you all for choosing kindness, compassion, caring, generosity and most importantly love to do something good. This goodness will bring change and grace to the lives of many.
