Eli has discovered a love for reading. He's also discovered a love for helping people. So he came up with this idea after hearing a story from one of his dad's trips to Guatemala.

He's set a goal of reading 750 pages by the end of October 2011. You can pledge per page or make a donation for a fixed amount. Either way, you are encouraging literacy and generosity in an eight year old American boy and helping provide education and nourishment for children in Guatemala.

So here's the need. Eli's raising money to pay for a month of education and meals for the children in the village of Chisis, Cotzal, Quiché, Guatemala. In this village there are more than 80 children and one teacher. The children range in age from 4-11 years. In addition to general education, they are provided a hot meal each school day. Often, this is the only meal they receive each day.

The money collected will go towards paying one month of the teacher's salary and a meal for each child every school day throughout the month. And donating is easy. Here's an example: If you donate $0.01 per page then your donation would be $7.50. A donation of $0.05 is $37.50. $0.50 per page is $375. You get the idea.
