Help Andrew Reach the Nations-2018

Donation protected
Would you like to partner with me to reach the nations in 2018?

As many of you know, serving overseas is one of my passions in life. Also, missions in all its various forms is one of the callings I believe God has placed on my life, and after a few years of not having the opportunity to do so, God has opened multiple doors for me to serve overseas once more this year. I am incredibly excited, and I know that the Lord has big plans for each of these trips.

Would you like to partner with me, and be a part of the teams the Lord is raising up this year to both reach the lost, and encourage and minister to our brothers and sisters in Christ, all on three separate continents?

I am inviting you to come alongside me in preparation for, and in support of, these trips. I am asking you to commit to pray before and during each excursion, that the Lord would prepare my heart and that of my teammates for the work we’ll be doing, as well as praying for those we’ll be meeting and the people to whom we will be ministering.

Also, I am asking you to consider joining in sending me financially. As you can see above, the total amount I will need to raise for the three trips is $7,000. There are various fundraising deadlines for each trip between now and May 22. While this number may seem like a large amount in one sense, a friend of mine recently reminded me that amounts like this “are not even a rounding error for God.” So, because I believe the Lord has called me to go on these trips this year, I know that He will provide.

Lastly, here are brief summaries of the trips.

Trip 1: April 2018 – Three closed countries

This trip will feature ministry in three closed countries, each labeled as a “restricted” country. For this reason, I cannot name the countries, but will be able to name them after returning home.

The ministry Voice of the Martyrs defines restricted countries as “countries where government-sanctioned circumstances or anti-Christian laws lead to Christians being harassed, imprisoned, killed, or deprived of possessions or liberties because of their witness. Also included are countries where government policy or practice prevents Christians from obtaining Bibles or other Christian literature. In addition to government persecution, Christians may also experience persecution from family, community members and/or political groups.”

In these three countries, Christians primarily meet in house churches (believers gathering together in homes rather than in a church building, for security purposes). My teammates and I will be supporting the local believers by doing in-house teaching, in-house evangelism, and much prayer, encouragement, and fellowship.

Trip 2: May 2018 – Switzerland

About two years ago, some friends of mine followed the Lord’s leading and moved their family to Germany, near the border with Switzerland, with a long term goal of ministering in Switzerland. They have invited me and one other guy to join them for a week of ministry.

The husband in this family summarized the need there by saying the following. In a third-world country you can go and do physical work, like build a house or serve food, as a vehicle for sharing the gospel, because these are pressing needs there and are tangible ways to show the love of Jesus to the lost. In a first-world country like Switzerland, this is not a realistic option or need as most people are middle class or higher. However, in a more affluent country like this, people are finding that they still have a hunger inside of them for something (in this case spiritual hunger, not physical) and have not found this hunger truly satisfied in any of their wealth and abundance.

We will be spending time both in the region where they currently live, and in a region of the country to which this family ultimately feels called. We will be praying and asking the Lord to move and start drawing people to himself, and that churches would be planted, as there are relatively few evangelical churches and little gospel witness in this post-modern nation. We will be visiting and encouraging some pastors there, who sometimes question how much they’re accomplishing and feel at times like their ministry is bearing little fruit. All along the way, we will be attentive to the Lord’s leading and hope to have opportunities for evangelism and prayer, asking Him to arrange divine encounters.

Trip 3: Guatemala – August 2018

This last trip will be a trip with Compassion International. I would define it as a vision trip, which means my teammates and I will be spending a week coming alongside the Compassion ministry, and their Guatemalan church partners, and witnessing and experiencing their work in Guatemala firsthand.

We will be visiting with young mothers enrolled in their Child Survival Program, visiting and playing with children in their Sponsorship program, and visiting children and families in their homes in order to better understand the challenges of poverty in Guatemala.

I have been to Guatemala twice before, and I very much look forward to returning and joining once again in the work the Lord is doing in this beautiful country and among these beautiful people.

If you’ve read this far, I very much appreciate your time! Please consider how you can join in with what the Lord is doing this year in these nations.

If you would like to know more, please feel free to contact me at [email redacted] and I will answer any questions you may have. Also, please feel free to share this with anyone you may know who also has a heart for missions and for the gospel to reach the ends of the Earth.

Thank you!
