Re-accommodate victims of DV into our safe house

Donation protected

Off the back of having shared a video to our social platforms [Instagram , LinkedIn , and TikTok ] a video of a young woman relocating to TDP’s “secret apartment” … just under 1 million people have now seen that piece of content, and begged for us to create a way for people to be involved / donate etc.

We put our heads together, and genuinely? The *best* way this here little digital marketing agency can receive help to pass on to this victim [and the many more we will continue to re-accommodate in our TDP “secret apartment” owning lifetime] is by receiving help towards the rent [and ongoing costs] of this apartment.

We decided if we ask for 50% of the yearly costs of the apartment [11k of the 21k rental fees], it’ll mean we can continue to renew this lease … and help many, many more people.

We don’t expect to his this particular goal. In fact, we feel uncomfortable even asking … but our email inbox has been inundated with people who want to help: so let’s do this?

An excerpt from the post we shared;

“Last month we revealed that our company has a “secret apartment” that we donate to an NFP who utilises it to re-accommodate women escaping from domestic violence.

When we shared that post? x2 large [think global] companies following us on LinkedIn [with profits into the millions and billions] reached out to me to ask how they could become similarly involved, and subsequently donated x15 apartments for the same purpose: accommodating victims of domestic violence.

We’re a tiny, tiny business. There are still months that we have that don’t yield a profit [despite our *best* efforts], but to think this is the impact we made by sharing that we have a “secret apartment”? … pinch us.

IS THIS REAL?!

This video is shared with the consent of both the NFP we work with, as well as the beautiful human being who moved into this apartment to escape what was documented in a 30+ page police report [] … and is now healing from a lifetime of trauma, and making plans to study law [oh my heart].

We’re sharing this video today [having blurred out ANY identifying factors] in case you happen to stumble upon this in your feed … and think to yourself: I could do this, too.

[even if it’s a vision board / one day down the track thing]

Our apartment costs us 21k per annum [rental], which changes entire lives for the people who live within it to escape from [and heal from] horrific trauma. #BeTheChange”.

All funds from this GoFundMe will go towards rental on this apartment, and this apartment will only ever be used to re-accommodate victims of domestic violence.

This apartment has been strategically selected due to the fact that it has x3 security doors to get through, and security guards patrolling the apartment on a 24/7 basis [the NFP we collaborate with have said it couldn’t be better suited to DV victims, due to its design … and for that we are grateful].

If for any reason we generate more than our goal, we will simply put the extra funds towards leasing this apartment on a much longer-term basis.

Thank you so much for wanting to #BeTheChange alongside us. x
