Support for James Mellish

Bethany (Kaiser) Mellish of Lapeer, Michigan died suddenly during childbirth yesterday morning at Hurley Hospital. Baby James Christopher Mellish is healthy and beautiful and for this we praise God. We are still waiting on the coroner's report but the doctors feel it was a one-in-a-million complication of either a massive pulmonary embolism originating at the placenta or an even more rare occurrence of an amniotic embolism where amniotic fluid enters the mother's blood stream causing massive clotting. She died very suddenly and there was nothing the doctors could do even though she was in a hospital operating room when she died (Baby James was born by C-section).
James is now left to care for their newborn son James as well as their 17 month old daughter Penelope.  In lieu of memorials the family has requested that donations be made to the family to cover funeral expenses and to help James care for their two young children during this difficult time.
This fund has been set up by myself, James's sister, in the hopes that he would be able to cover the funeral expenses.  Any funds raised above the cost of the funeral will be used to allow James to stay home with his children as long as possible before returning to work.
