Maria Salome Ferro Orphanage

As some of you may know, I am currently studying abroad in Cusco, Peru. My program is named IPSL, which is a service-learning program that allows students to engage in a community through service. Therefore, I am currently volunteering in a boy’s orphanage called Maria Salome Ferro. These young boys have really changed my life. They have taught me to live with love and happiness even though they have so little. Unfortunately, these boys do not live in the best environment. The walls are in bad condition, glass windows are broken and the playground is unsafe with broken swings. As my final project I would love to leave knowing they are in a safer and cleaner environment. Therefore I am hoping to raise money to get paint and tools to fix the place up. I want the boys to feel they are in the safe environment that they can call home since some of the boys are in this environment permanently. It would mean the world to me to be able to give something back since they have given me an entirely new prospective on life. I hoping with your help and support this vision can come true. Now, the paint will cost around 20,000 soles which in American dollars is 7,000. I know this is big but I know we can do it! My group is also trying to start a mentorship program. This mentorship program will allow college men to come and gain a relationship with the boys. Hopefully creating a mentor or someone the boys can call a friend they trust. We hope this all works out because as of the now it is immoral to have the boys stay in conditions like this. Anything can help even one dollar because that is 3 soles in Cusco, Peru. So, I am going to try to raise at least 1000 dollars on my own but if I can get the entire 7,000 dollars that would truly be amazing. Thank you for taking your time to read this and your support.

250 gallons of Latax Pato Paint: 5,850 soles

250 gallons of American Colors Paint: 12,850 soles

1 Gallon of American c./ Satinado/ Supermato: 54 soles

50 Gallons of Esmalto Color- Pato: 1750 soles

Total : 20, 504 soles = 6,843 American Dollars
