On July 3rd, my brother, Pete McGee, fell and fractured his skull. He was expected to be discharged from the hospital in about a week, spend time in rehab and return to work fully recovered within a few months.
However, he has developed multiple medical complications, is critically ill and on a ventilator in the Intensive Care Unit at our local hospital in Pennsylvania.
He has received a tremendous number of cards and handwritten letters from family, friends, and colleagues. Many have stopped by or have called, asking to send flowers and gifts, which he cannot receive in ICU. We have been touched by the number of calls and offers to help that keep coming daily.
Pete has been employed by Volvo for many years. He is an avid marathon runner, swimmer, and bicyclist. He is blessed with family and friends who love him and a great job and co-workers.
Because of how critically ill he is, his journey back to health will be a very long one. In a few weeks , his salary will significantly drop. With so many requests for ways to help Pete, we decided to start this Go Fund Me Page. The money raised will be used to defray medical bills and to supplement his income until he is back to work full time.
We also ask for continued prayers for wisdom for his caregivers and for healing for Pete.
