A while ago I went to a seminar about The Refuge -The Refuge provides a long-term shelter for girls that have been sex trafficked- this really made me see how big of a problem this is in communities like ours and no person should ever have to go through it. what really pulled at my heart was that the girls were around my age and could be younger
and I felt like I needed to do something to help. I brought the idea to build adirondack chairs to the founders of The Refuge and they are very exicted about it. They want the chairs to be a place for the girls to just relax. I decied to make this my Girl Scout silver project-bringing a place of rest to the girls and awareness to my community. The money will go towards buying the materials to build the chairs. (each chair will cost about $85 for all the materials.
