Naomi Tseggai Emergency

***Official campaign created by her father Mulu-Ghieta Tecle***

Naomi Tseggai is an 8 year old girl with a twin brother. She is the only girl of 6 children in her family. She is a gentle and bright child. The kind of child that gives you free hugs just because.

On Sunday Sept 8, 2019, just two days shy of her Birthday, Naomi’s dad, Mulu, dropped her off at a friend’s pool party. She hung out in the shallow area where she stood and walked around comfortably. The party was winding down and guests were leaving one after another. Her mom, Ghenet, arrived to collect Naomi only to find herself in the center of chaos. Children were being gathered in an area but Naomi was not within the group. Ghenet glanced over to find Naomi laying on the ground with people surrounding her, and no pulse. This was the worst nightmare for any parent. CPR was performed for 14 minutes before EMT arrived.

Naomi was rushed to Novato Community Hospital where she was intubated and have a pulse.  She was later transferred to Oakland Kaiser Hospital PICU where the doctor gave them a hopeless report. The doctor concluded, Naomi may have been submerged under water for at least 7 minutes according to the damage to her brain. Mulu and Ghenet continue to hold on to their faith regardless of what Oakland Kaiser’s doctors have to say.

Naomi had a couple of procedures done while in Oakland Kaiser Hospital. On Sept 18, 2019 she had a Tracheotomy done in order to help her breathing. A PEG tube was also added to help bring nutrition, fluids and medications directly into Naomi's stomach.

Although she is in a coma, Kaiser was ready to discharge her or her parents would have to pay a nightly fee of $3,000.00 to keep her in Kaiser Hospital. Luckily, after some testing with a Neurologist they were able to get a referral and on Sept 30, 2019 Naomi was transferred to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland where they received an abundant amount of positive energy and support from the staff.

Ghenet has been by Naomi's side 24/7 in the hospital. Mulu has been recommended to look into Stem Cell Therapy and did extensive research and it sounds very promising. He would have to act quickly for a greater possible outcome while it’s in the early stages of her brain injury.

Sometimes in life, the unexpected and unexplainable things happen. All we can do right now is focus all of our energy on helping the family.

There's no amount that is too small. All of your contributions will be going to help finance the cost of future procedures and the vital things that the family need to make Naomi comfortable.

Please help fight for Naomi.
