Razom: Emergency Medical Supplies for Ukraine

As some of you may know, my family came to the US from Ukraine as refugees when I was 4. Like most, we have been watching the continued invasion of Ukraine — with its brutal assault on civilians — in horror. I have never felt more connected to Ukraine and prouder of the bravery of everyday Ukrainians.

 

Many of you have asked about good places to donate to support Ukraine at this moment. I am proud to be raising money for Razom for Ukraine, a 501c3 organization founded in 2014 by Ukrainian-American women here in New York City. I have chosen this organization because I believe they are one of the best positioned grassroots organizations able to work nimbly in response to the current crisis.

 

Razom, which means “together” in Ukrainian, has worked hard over the past 8 years to unlock the potential of Ukraine, focusing on civic engagement and amplifying the voices of Ukrainians. They have now shifted all gears to help support the immediate needs of those on the ground.

 

Razom’s Emergency Response is currently focused on delivering critical medical supplies to Ukraine. Razom’s teams have been working to establish highly efficient and scalable procurement, logistics, and distribution channels to transport supplies to those who need them most, partnering with organizations in the US, Ukraine, and Poland. While their current focus is on the most critical medical aid, they will procure and deliver humanitarian supplies as the crisis continues to unfold.

 

I know individuals personally who volunteer with Razom and have participated in their programs. Razom has been mentioned on a number of lists of vetted organizations providing relief work in Ukraine, including in the Washington Post, Philanthropy Roundtable, Boston Globe and New York Magazine’s The Cut.
