Ray's Lung Transplant Fund

I was diagnosed about 18 months ago with idiopathic  pulmonary fibrosis.  The medical profession does not know what causes this disease, nor is there any cure.  Except for a lung transplant.  I have been going to the Cleveland Clinic every three months for an evaluation by the doctors on the transplant team.  There is no hospital in St.Louis that will perform the lung transplant on me, everyone has their specialty.  Cleveland Clinic is the only one that agreed to the surgery.  I have now been moved to the next level and am now being given the requirements for being put on the transplant list.  One of the requirements is that I must have $20, 000 in the bank for the initial out of pocket charges.  First, I will have four hours to get to Cleveland when a lung is available.  This will require the hospital sending their airplane to pick me up and get me to Cleveland immediately.  This will cost approximatelly $8000.  Then the anti-rejection drugs will cost over $2500 a month plus regular medications .  I will be required to stay in Cleveland for at least three months with 24 hour caregivers to complete my initial recovery. Then when I get back home, I will still need caregivers to help with healing for the first year. 
The need for this go fund me page is because in 2008 when my late wife was sick with breast cancer, I used my 401K and all of my savings for her bills.  Therefore now that I have my own disease, I am in need of help.
My next appointment at the Cleveland Clinic is in November 2017.  At that time, I need to prove to the transplant team that I have met their requirements and am ready to be put on the list.  Which means that I need to have a bank account of at least $20,000 to begin the process.
I am also planning on having fund raisers such as B-B-Q or golf tournament to help with expenses.
