As many of you know a great loss was suffered this week on July 19th, 2017 with the passing of a loving partner, husband, brother and father Raymond Albert Lansberry.
The loss is devastating to all of us. Ray loved his family and friends very much. His positive attitude and outlook on life was inspiring. The impact he had on all who know him or saw him in passing will forever remain.
Life will never be the same without Ray, but he would want us all to remember the positive legacy he left behind and know he is looking down on all of us with that unforgettable smile.
In December of 2014 Ray received a left lung transplant. This is when my true journey as his caregiver began. Little did I know at the beginning of this that a caregiver’s duties and responsibility would be so demanding and rewarding at the same time. With more than 20,000 miles traveled, countless doctor’s appointments, and four additional surgeries, as his caregiver, we did most everything together. He was me and I was him. The sleepless nights worrying if things would be okay. Yes, it was all worth it. Ray is my partner in life, my best friend and someone I love very much, I wouldn’t trade any of this journey for anything in the world. Our journey together isn’t over he’s in heaven with our dog Lindsey and I am here with his dog Buddy until we all meet again.
We are starting this GoFundMe page to assist with the mounting medical expenses and other unexpected expenses that have come about. All funds raised will be used to help pay the more than $6,000 in current medical bills and to offset any additional cost that may incur from this unexpected tragic loss.
Any unused funds will be donated to SPAY-LEE, Inc Animal welfare in memory of Ray Lansberry, the rescue we adopted Buddy from.
A special Thank You, to All the Nurses, Doctors and staff at Tampa General and St Joseph’s Hospital because without you the past two and a half years wouldn’t have been possible. Also a Very Special Thank You to the donor and their family for giving us a second chance on life. God Bless.
