Raymond Jandoli Accident Fund

Shortly after returning to a routine after a 1 ½ year  battle and rehab stint following a near-fatal fall during a construction accident, Ray is back in the hospital – this time after being involved in a horrific car accident in which the EMTs and police thought he wouldn’t survive.

But “Big Ray” is a fighter and he finds himself in the fight of his life for the second time in less than two years.
Ray has been on a ventilator since being thrown from his vehicle and being found on the side of the road on Saturday evening (Dec. 9). He has a fracture in his neck (no paralysis), shattered ribs, a collapsed lung and head trauma. He’s been in CCU at Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford, Fla., just outside his home in Orlando, and has already undergone two surgeries – one to close a head wound and the other called rib plating, which was to install titanium implants along his rib cage to stabilize them and pull them off his collapsed lung.
The last time his medical bills were covered under workman’s comp, but this time he has no such “luck.”

Ray, if he was conscious, would be too proud to ask for this help. But, not being sure how long he is expected to be in the hospital, his bills are sure to skyrocket. Not to mention, prior to his last construction fall in which he was air lifted to the hospital, he just purchased a home and has been scrambling to meet his bills over the last 18 months. And this time he won’t have any subsidy from workman’s comp to cover part of his living expenses.
I can’t imagine having to go through one of these accidents – the last one really tested his psyche – and to have to go through it again will be another burden for him if/when he pulls through. We are just hoping that we can offset some of his costs and hoping he can return to a normal life.
He was still suffering some of the ill-effects from his last accident, which include being blind in one eye, and we’re not sure if any of those injuries have returned or worsened and are sure the road to recovery this time will be another arduous task.
But, if anyone can do it and has the moxie to do the work that it will take to recover, it’s Ray. He cheated death just 18 months ago, so don’t count him out this time.
