Chief RAY GROSSMAN  with Cohutta Police Department HAS SUFFERED A MAJOR STROKE AFTER OPEN HEART SURGERY

On 28 December, 2017 Ray underwent open heart surgery and had a triple bypass procedure at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. Everything went well and the doctor released him on Monday,  01 January 2018. 

In the early hours of Wednesday morning around 02:30 Ray began having issues. It was quickly realized that something was not right so an ambulance was called and taken to the Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton. They  assessed he had suffered a stroke and immediatly made arrangements for him to return to Memorial Hospital. 

Once he arrived at Memorial Hospital the medical team began treating Ray for the stroke. 

As of this posting, Ray has lost his eye sight in one eye and only has partial eye sight in the other eye... he has paralysis on his right side and also is having short term memory issues. 

Ray has been a part of the Cohutta community for nearly 14 years and has done so much for us here.  All Ray knows is Law Enforcement. He Lived it, He Breathed it and He Was it.  

Ray and his family need us NOW... 

Cohutta is a small community and the salary of any law enforcement officer, including Ray's salary, is always never enough sometimes. But Ray and every other officer does this because it is what they are called to do.

There are preachers, teachers, lawyers, and doctors who believed from an early age they knew what they wanted to do. For law enforcement men and women, this is what they knew what they had to do from their early age. 

When there is an issue in Cohutta, we call Ray...
