Ray Best Memorial Bench for Baker

Ray Best volunteered for the Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay for over 20 years. Ray, along with much of his family, that he recruited, managed all the RV support for the race. The process for Ray was not just during the race but was more of a year long process. Once the race was over that year, it was time to discuss lessons learned and start planning for the next year. He would attend every meeting and event associated with the race. 
Ray had great pride in volunteering for this event and made it a tradition for his family. From his wife of 66 years to all four of his children, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Ray made the Baker to Vegas Race a family event. Additionaly, Ray brought with him alot of his Kountry Kamper club members. Ray knew every stage support volunteer and once he met someone they were a lifetime friend. He always made a genuine effort to get to know everyone that he encountered along the way. 
Ray had a huge heart for giving to others. To Ray this event was not only about supporting law enforcement but supporting Baker High School in any way he could. The week prior to the race, Ray, his family, and his Kountry Kampers participated in all of the high school fundraising events, inlcuding, but not limited to a pancake breakfast, a spaghetti dinner and an ice cream social (Ray loved ice cream).
This page has been set up to raise money to build a bench that will be placed in memory of Ray Best at Baker High School.  His family feels that this would be a great way to honor his memory and his dedication to the event that was such a huge part of his life!
