Ravens-Steelers Ladies for a Cause

Join the women of the Baltimore Ravens as we embark in a friendly competition against the women of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Since we play each other on Christmas day, what better way to engage this rivalry than to give back to each of our communities in our own "Off the Field Battle of the Bucks". We will be raising money for a selected charity in each community. This fundraiser is a fun way for the significant others of the Ravens and the Steelers to compete against one another while giving back to their local communities, so BOTH teams and cities are the winners! We will be collecting donations until our match-up on Christmas day!
The Ravens are having a fantastic season on the field and they would like to help out the Baltimore community win off the field by raising money for the Maryland Food Bank this holiday season!
About our charity:
Maryland is home to more than 760,000 people who do not have enough to eat.
Despite its status as one of the wealthiest states in the nation, Maryland communities are deeply impacted by food insecurity. While the homeless remain the most visible faces of hunger, the need for food assistance is rising among children, seniors, and working families.
With today’s stagnant wages and the steadily rising cost of living, some individuals are working full time and still struggling to put food on the table. In fact, 39% of food-insecure individuals in our service area earn too much to qualify for federal or state relief. This means that thousands of food-insecure Marylanders rely solely on the food bank and other hunger-relief agencies as they struggle to meet their basic needs.
