Ratliff Family Emergency Fund

2 weeks ago my son, Carcle Ratliff, went through the scariest time of his and his family's life.  It was a normal day, and he was getting ready for work when out of nowhere he felt like he couldn't breathe.  By the time the paramedics had arrived, he was already unconscious,  and his lungs were completely seized up, with no air coming in or out. The paramedics didn't think he was going to make it. They had begun CPR and intubated him in the field. His wife and 3 young daughters were hysterical. Before he had gone unconscious he had managed to say goodbye to his family, because he just knew there was no way he would make it out of this. Upon arrival at the hospital, he was completely coded, and they began resuscitative efforts in order to save his life. By the time we were allowed back there quite a bit later, he was 100% dependent on life support, and in a medically induced coma in ICU.  The Dr.s weren't sure he would make it that first night, as his body was resisting the life support, and they said if he kept it up, they wouldn't be able to preserve his life at all, and he would die.   The next day the coma was finally lifted,  and eventually they were even able to remove the life support. They discovered he had a heart attack and that his lungs had collapsed.  After a few days, they were able to move him from the ICU, to the cardiac unit where they performed quite a few tests and procedures, including a heart cath. They learned that he has 35% functioning of his heart, congestive heart failure,  and all this on top of the COPD he had just been diagnosed with the previous year. The Dr.s said that he needs to be out of work for at least a month, which is very difficult for his family. His wife is a stay home mom, as she home schools their 3 daughters, and cares for their youngest daughter who is severely mentally and physically disabled. In fact their youngest has major heart issues along with a whole host of other health problems herself. So my son is the sole provider of the home. They were already backed up on bills as earlier this year he had been hospitalized on and off for 4 months due to complications with the valves in his leg not functioning correctly and causing some major tissue damage, which he's still waiting for surgery on that, but the insurance doesn't cover that particular procedure. My son works hard to provide for his family. He loves the Lord, and hates to be a burden on anyone. His family has already had to endure a lot, as a few years back they lost their son to SIDS. If there's any way you could please help, so they don't have to endure anymore hardship than they already have, it would mean so much to them, and every little bit will make a huge difference as they have no finances right now while he's out of work. He's considering returning to work before the Dr.s have said it's safe to do so, so that he can cover the cost of food, and bills so that his family isn't without.  I, and my family, and my daughter-in-laws family have helped in every way we can, but right now I, myself, am out of work due to a recent surgery, so I can't do a whole lot financially, as I just don't have it to give right now.  So I'm reaching out to all of you, hoping you might take into consideration helping this family. Thank you in advance for any help and prayers you can offer. It means so much to me, as his mom, and his family.
