Tidy Town Rathkeale Shrine and Pauper's Graveyard
Over the last few years Tidy Town under Packie Lynch and other volunteers have put a tremendous amount of work for the upkeep of the Marian Shrine in Rathkeale.
The Shrine is much loved by our community and it is a highlight for the entire community. Especially in these difficult times.
We have always been supported by different groups and people over the last few years to continue working on the shrine and keeping it in good order.
But last year, due to Covid, community funds and Tidy Town funds were not available.
We are looking for funds for the upkeep of our beloved shrine for this year.
Last year, Tidy Town Rathkeale has also started with the upkeep of the Paupers Graveyard, that was created to honor and remember the famine victims.
The Marian Shrine was founded in 1954 by volunteers. Over the last 67 years it was maintained by many volunteers, especially James Leahy who put decades of work in it, and has in the past won many garden awards.
We will be grateful for any help we can get to keep the Shrine and the Pauper's graveyard up to the standard they deserve.
Many thanks,
Tidy Town Rathkeale
