Rashed Al-Haddad is fundraising for the people of Yemen

I am working alongside Yemeni social media influencer Rashid Al-Haddad to create a fundraiser to help the people of Yemen. Rashed shot to fame when he boarded the Galaxy Leader in January amid the Yemeni naval blockade in the Red Sea with his videos going viral on TikTok. He has been interviewed by several prominent global news outlets, many of which took it upon themselves to focus only on looks, comparing him to the American actor Timothée Chalamet. Rashed wholly rejected this comparison and in an interview said:

"This is not the time to talk about beauty. I decided to use my platform in another way - to speak about Palestine."

After receiving several requests from people on Instagram and TikTok asking him how to donate money to support the people of Yemen, Rashed decided to set up this fundraiser. All funds will be sent directly to charities in Yemen under Rashid's supervision. As a Yemeni citizen, he is not eligible to set up a GoFundMe account via this platform, hence I am supporting him in this endeavour. All updates in terms of fund distribution transparency will be communicated via this page.

This is a personal message that Rashed wanted to share:

This translates to the following: "Hello, I hope everyone is well. I am Rashid Al-Haddad. I think some people know me well. I am a Yemeni citizen living in Sana'a. I am 20 years old. I have been in contact with Noah Samsen and Hassan Piker and we decided to launch this campaign to help people in Yemen. I tried to run an account myself for the campaign, but I couldn't because of the blockade on Yemen as these services are not available. However, I have foreign friends whom I know well and trust. Here, we explain to you the conditions and wars in Yemen. There are people who cannot find anything to eat. People sleep in the streets, then go to the garbage to look for leftovers, and then go back to sleep in the street. They have no place or home. This is not because they are not looking for work. In fact, work and jobs in Yemen are non-existent. There is not even a salary or assistance from the state. People suffer a lot. Some go searching the streets for someone to give them money to buy medicine. There are diseases that they cannot afford to treat. They are trying hard, but the situation of the entire Yemeni people is very bad. We hope that you can help them in the least possible way. Perhaps we can help many families with the amount you donated. As you also know, because of the siege on Yemen, all prices have risen, and valleys are not available in abundance and at high prices, as well as food supplies.
