Hey! As the spring semester rolls on and Summer gets closer and closer, I find myself in the position to march another year of Drum Corps! For those of you who don’t know, drum corps is the highest level of performing arts, where I get to participate in a world class “marching band” that tours the country for 2.5 months straight! On this thousands of mile journey, we learn a 12 minute production and get to showcase our hard work as we perform in high school, college and even NFL stadiums! Going into my second year, I auditioned for my dream corps, the Blue Devils (a group with a staggering 21 world championships titles!) and I received a spot to march! However, this activity isn’t cheap, and will cost a total of just about $6000. This price tag, while quite hefty, includes housing, transportation, food, uniform, equipment, and experiences I would not trade the world for. Having fallen in love with the sport (and being so blessed to get to march another year) it is an impossible opportunity to say no to.
