LONDON MARATHON

11 years after having my gait analysed, buying my running shoes and completing my first marathon in New York, I'm finally running my second! Back then I had my sister as a training partner but this time I'm going alone. The dark, cold nights have made it a challenge but I'm pleased to say I'm definitely heading in the right direction for completing London.
This time I am raising money for the Outrigger Club UK - OCUK.org - the UK’s largest outrigger canoe club.
Traditionally ocean-based and the national sport of sublime ocean areas such as Hawaii and Tahiti, outrigger canoeing is one the most exciting sports that you will see on the Thames.
The club was set up in 2002 by a group of paddlers from the Thames Dragons Dragon Boat Club and the Hong Kong Island Paddle Club and my friend Tim Osborne was one of those founders. Tragically Tim died last year but he really wanted to encourage younger generations to get involved with this addictive sport, and I would like to help too. All money raised will be put towards fulfilling Tim's ambition and I know I will be extremely proud to think I may have contributed in some way.
