On the morning of July 15, 2017, my wife Raquel suddenly became unresponsive as she was suffering a severe stroke. After being rushed to the hospital, I was made aware that her trauma was being caused from a massive blood clot in the right main artery cutting off the direct flow of oxygen and blood to the brain. The monumental swelling resulted in immediate removal of the full right side of the skull in order to save the her life.
After major brain surgery, she laid unresponsive for what seemed as an eternity. Yet in her silence our prayers were answered. On July 22 her bright eyes opened slightly as she had regained consciousness returning back to us from her transitional state.
"We felt we were doomed to die and saw how powerless we were to help ourselves; but that was good, for then we put everything into the hands of God, who alone could save us, for he can even raise the dead."
-Corinthians 1:9
We pray you will support our beloved Raquel, and we call on the generosity of family, friends, neighbors along with strangers to help us during her time of need.
WHERE THE MONEY WILL BE USED: All donations will be used for additional medical bills, transportation, rehabilitation facility and needed long term rehabilitation equipment. All donations are tax deductible.
HER STORY
Raquel is paralyzed on the left side of her full body, but she is ready and willing to start on her road to recovery. Raquel is a strong and courageous fighter, who is not giving up, and is not willing to stay lying down either. Her persistence to overcome this obstacle shows us how tenacious and courageous she is. Strong will-ed and strong minded, she’s showing daily improvements.
Raquel is on a long road to recovery, however, I am confident that she will fight this battle with the same determination and strength that she has always shown.
