Jeff Campbell Retirement Fund

Jeff Campbell proudly served with the elite 2nd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, and participated in the combat parachute jump into the Republic of Panama during Operation Just Cause.

When Jeff left the military, he eventually became a police officer with the MBTA Transit Police Department in Boston, Massachusetts. As a decorated Army Ranger, Jeff was selected for the SWAT Team. As a SWAT operator, his goals were to make those around him the best they could be. Jeff quickly became someone who could be relied on and trusted by his fellow SWAT operators.

After the Boston Marathon Bombings, the murder of MIT Police Officer Sean Collier, and the near-fatal shooting of MBTA Transit Police Officer Richard "Dic" Donohue in 2013, Jeff led his team into Watertown to join the hunt for those responsible. Jeff, his team, and other law enforcement agencies soon closed in on Dzhokhar Tsarnaev who was hiding inside of a boat -- Jeff was one of the arresting officers. Jeff and his team was interviewed by Anderson Cooper here.

Jeff needs our help, but he'd never ask for it. "Everything is fine." But it isn't.

Last year, Jeff was attacked at a courthouse in Boston while on-duty. When the attack was over, an ambulance was called and Jeff's attacker left in it. While defending himself, Jeff broke his hand but in true Ranger fashion -- it wasn't a big deal, until it was.

Jeff left work to let his hand heal, however, it hasn't. What was thought to be a simple hand fracture has turned into a career-ending injury. Jeff's career as a police officer has been cut short and he can no longer do what he has loved to do for so long -- protect others.

Jeff has sacrificed for us all in many different ways -- sometimes at the expense of his own safety. He deserves to retire with dignity and with the appropriate financial means.

Whether you are a veteran, first responder, Ranger, or a fellow American, I'd ask you to help in any way you can. Whatever funds are raised in this fundraiser will be presented to Jeff in early December at a public event which will be posted at a later date.
