Hey Everyone,
My name is Randi and I am a 32yr old wife, mother, and nurse. On my 2nd wedding anniversary 10-10-17 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I went through 10 rounds of chemo, 28 radiations, a double mastectomy, and 24 weeks of a chemo pill. Two weeks before my final reconstructive surgery, I had a follow up CT done that showed a nodule on my lung which led to me having a precautionary PET scan. The PET lit up with multiple nodules on my right lung as well as lymph nodes around my sternum area.
After speaking with my primary oncologist and my radiation doctor, they both want me to get on a clinical trial. With that being said, they want me to go to the best place possible which is in Houston, TX at the MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Unfortunately, my insurance doesn’t cover my flights, my hotel, food, or transportation while I am there. Bryan (my husband) is working two jobs full time, I am currently working full time and will do so as long as I can but even with that we will not be able to afford the countless flights and Lodging that I will need while I undergo treatment. I understand that times are tough for everyone. I feel ashamed and embarrassed to even have to create a GoFundMe for this but I just don’t know what else to do.
