Ramey & Ruth Tie the Knot

Donation protected
FUNDING GOAL: $9500 ( by Nov 16 2018, we are hoping to save half) REASON: Country borders, serious decisions and submission of paperwork. We want to build our lives together in Benalla (more info below) WEDDING CELEBRATIONS: Our nuptials will be private. RECEPTION: We want to celebrate with you. Please send a text message to: 0423853627 with your full name and phone number if you would like to join us. THE DETAILS: We have decided to share our journey and intend to be legally wed. Marriage is not a decision we have made lightly and rather the outcome of many serious talks. It will allow us to remain together and we would like to share this momentous occasion with everyone. If you are unfamiliar with our story please read our stories below for some clarification. In lieu of traditional gifts we would like to turn the tables and for your financial support, we will offer a gift as a token of our appreciation. Postage could get a bit hairy as not all items can be mailed (more details below), and our plan is to have a large come and go party in Baddaginnie next year at which point everything will be distributed.  The gift ideas we would like to offer you, we have so far, are listed below with some pictures for your enjoyment. $20 - Name a rock for our garden (painted on). $50 - Cd, postcards, bottle of wine, or book purchased by us in support of our talented friends (see details below). $100 - Customised T shirt.  $200 - choose a piece of Ruth's Art. $450 - Air BnB the whole Baddaginnie Church 1 night. $900 - Air BnB  the whole church at Baddaginnie Church 3 nights. A personalised thank you card and warm fuzzy feelings free with every donation. (Please provide address if unable to attend on November 5th 2019; it will be an all day event.) Hello Ruth here, The R & R story is that Ramey and I met early in 2017 and from the words of many friends 'Two people have never been more suited to be together' or 'They are both super weird.'  Since starting this magical journey we cannot get enough of each others company. We accept each other's whole person and all of its shades and look forward to watching each other change in the dance called life. We knew in the beginning of our relationship that remaining together would be an interesting journey with a few hurdles if a life partner was the aim. The decision to tie the knot has come from many a conversation and is not a choice made lightly. This is where we need a little of your help to hep our journey stay in its proximital hummmmmmmm. We would like you to celebrate our marriage with us in a show of support this month to help us tread the same path without being forced to live worlds apart. From the mind of Ramey, I am incredibly thankful for the community I have found in Benalla as I have been introduced to some amazing humans. Ruth was one of those individuals, and if not for a mutual friend I would probably still have my nose stuck in a book sitting on the farm's porch. I knew she was someone I wanted to know on a deeper level, and I marvel at the way she views the world. It is no coincidence that we enjoy the same lifestyle, and watching Ruth interact with the townsfolk at Red Road Cafe fills me with such delight. She makes me laugh on a daily basis, and even laughs at a high percentage of my jokes. We do keep busy but days off are typically days spent with each other and I would not have it any other way. Spending time together is as easy as breathing. We are both keen to have a productive vegetable garden and to add some sparkle and shine to the small town of Baddaginnie (very close to Benalla). Marriage talk began as we were trying to envision the future of us and how it would play out. I had booked a flight home for December, before we were a serious item and as we came closer to my departure date, my decision did not sit well. I do not think distance between us is a solution to staying together, and it does not help the argument that Canada is not exactly a trip a car can embark on. We kept on talking about marriage, and it reached enough of a boiling point that I called my family back home to tell them Christmas was not in the cards for me this year. My time at the moment is being invested to ensure that we have a hope of staying together which involves heaps of paperwork and piles of coin. Our Canada tour will have to wait until the dust settles on the visa application for the 801/820 partner visa (though I do look forward to showing Ruth the mountains and the prairies I used to call home). The Situation: We are both working hard to raise roughly $7000 toward a visa application for Ramey so that when his current visa runs out in February we will already have lodged his partner visa. To apply after February means long distance until a decision is reached. To apply in Australia means we get to continue revelling in each other's company. So for a wedding present (if you are keen) we would appreciate as little, or as much, as you are comfortable to give in support of the entity that is us. We would rather this not become a something for nothing and would like to show our appreciation in the form of a reverse wedding gift. Essentially if you donate to our cause we will provide something in return. Some of our talented friends have expressed a willingness to help. We will buy their wine, albums, books, and/or artwork from them, get a signature on the product and support our friends as well as provide a memorable gift as a thank you. We will create some of our own creative wonders to pass along as well.  *It is worth noting that these are all gifts to be distributed on November 5th of 2019 in Baddaginnie.  *If you happen to hail from out of town, we still want you get a thank you gift, but we might need to ask for postage funds depending on how successful this turns out to be. At this stage the Air BnB options and the wine are the only items unable to make a long journey. *Please send us a message if you have any questions or concerns. Updates  As we progress we hope to expand the options, and depending on the success of this venture we may be able to add to some of the choices. Those updates and any additional pictures will appear below. Signed Cd - Jason Lowe - Sorrow and Splendour Signed Book - Cameron Semmens - through the lover's window. Postcards - a set of 5 gorgeous prints of original art from a gem of a human Bottle of Wine - a locally sourced surprise TBA Many thanks!
