Ramadan Crescent Moon for SOMA

West Orange (flyer below) is having a crescent moon lighting for Ramadan at their Town Hall. The moon will remain lit for the whole month of Ramadan.

This is inspiring groups from neighboring towns to do the same- and that includes us in SOMA! We’d really like to do this in Maplewood, NJ. The cost to build the custom 7’ weather resistant moon is $2500. We'd like to be able raise this amount and extra to store it for years to come. If there is extra, we’d love to use it for kids activities and dessert during the ceremony as well.

The Crescent moon holds profound significance during Ramadan, symbolizing the start of this sacred month for our Muslim neighbors.
